The MESTESHUKAR store becomes a shelter hidden in the street. A place of refuge where the mundane is left behind; after crossing the barrier that the doorsill represents you find yourself inside a “trunk” that holds inside of it relics of a history that doesn’t want to be forgotten.
The proposition invites you inside a space that develops perimetrically, along the walls, lining the inside of the store with manmade pieces of work. The exordium of the store is outlined by a higher space, detached from the rest of the enclosure that contains on its side walls the memory of the craftmen themselves as a preview of the goods that are about to be seen as you immerse youself inside the store. Once the moment of “exordium” has pased, the same moment in which the small table is introduced, the table where beans of coffee are laid down, serving as an underlayer for the copper kettle and mugs, the perimeral coating of the walls with artisanal pieces.
At the end of this exhibition room the space, begins t o m a t e r i a l i z e a s a c o f f e s h o p , a s p l a c e s o f conversation, a space of intimacy, it’s a step back from the street, where each individual finds it’s own s p o t i n s i d e t h e b o o t h s , “ t h e w o o d e n p e w s ” .
One lonely table awaits across the pews, a square table that keeps its chairs hidden until the moment of use. The store becomes a path towards discovering the objects, making our intervention to fade in the background, a stern one so that it lets the artisanal objects to shine trough, disconnecting themselves from the binder that ties them together towards exposure. The perforated panels that find themselves above the heavy pieces of furniture, allow for the hanging of the 4 predimensioned trays, enhancing the flexibility of the presentation itself. The trays can change their position and also changing ones position with anothers, by choosing any perforation as a support for these metallic trays. All these elements find their pair in the form of the long and narrow table that becomes a pedestal for the little objects, for the miniatural world around which revolves the entire store. The table becomes the pillar, the anchor of the s t o r e . T h e e l e m e n t s b e c o m e m u n d a n e a n d f i n d proximities around themselves that are hidden as well as noticeable in a tight space, covered in the main idea of the project.
The white canvas, hanged over the store, closes the space. It is creating a womb that divides the space into sequences that fade gradually into the idea of the nomads covered wagon.
